A practical bullet formula
Action + task or problem + approach or scope + result. Example: Streamlined weekly inventory reconciliation across three locations, reducing unresolved discrepancies and giving managers earlier visibility into shortages.
Leadership and coordination
Led, coached, delegated, organized, scheduled, facilitated, mentored, supervised, aligned, directed, launched, and implemented.
Analysis and improvement
Analyzed, audited, evaluated, diagnosed, redesigned, simplified, automated, optimized, reduced, resolved, measured, and improved.
Customer service and sales
Advised, assisted, consulted, retained, negotiated, presented, resolved, supported, educated, qualified, expanded, and strengthened.
Technical and creative work
Built, configured, developed, designed, engineered, tested, documented, edited, produced, integrated, secured, and maintained.
Avoid forced variety
Use the clearest verb even if a nearby bullet uses something similar. Do not replace a precise word with an unusual synonym merely to sound impressive. Accuracy and readability matter more than thesaurus language.
Before and after
Weak: Responsible for customer complaints. Stronger: Resolved escalated account concerns by reviewing order history, coordinating corrections, and communicating clear next steps to customers. Add a truthful volume or result when available.
